Today this post is dedicated to my beautiful wife Dorothy Anne in celebration of her birthday. I have been married to Dorothy Anne for over 10 years, and with each passing day our lives get better and better.
Now even though I have appeared to have aged throughout the years, she is even more beautiful than the day I first met her. It’s like she’s “forever 21”. So with a wife that is so youthful, exciting and spontaneous I knew I had to do something exceptionally special for her on this day.
As I was brainstorming I felt like God dropped an incredible idea in my mind. That was to collect dozens of encouraging words from our family and her closest friends, and then post them on our blog as a surprise! Secretly, I wrote several people and asked them to write a special tribute to honor her life. Below you will see a bunch of “warm and fuzzies” (we’ll have to post another blog on the origin of this coined term soon) from her friends and family.
If you too would like to express your love and appreciation to Dorothy Anne on her birthday please feel free to comment in the section below. I know she would love to hear from you.
Thank you to all who contributed to this post and helped make this day extra special for Dorothy Anne. We are blessed to have you in our lives!

Dorothy Anne, I am so glad we met 14 years ago, wow has it been that long?! You were one of the first to befriend me when I moved to Dallas to attend CFNI. I didn’t know anyone and needed a kindred spirit, which was you! Thank you for your friendship it has meant so much. Even though we may not see much of each other, I appreciate your words of wisdom from one mom to another. And now I believe God is taking you into a new season, He is calling you for more than you even see right now, and He has put something in your heart that may have been there for years, but The Lord wants to bring it to pass. I pray The Lord will begin to open doors for you that now one can shut. I speak blessings on you and your family. You are precious to me and to the Father! Have a wonderful birthday! Lots of love.”

To My Dear Cousin Dorothy…You have been such a blessing to me and my family. You are the one I can call when I need advice, need to vent or just talk about whatever! I cherish how we have been close since we were little kids and keep in touch almost every week. You are like a big sister to me, and I look up to you. You encourage me to follow my creative dreams and always make me feel special and unique. I’m so thankful you are my cousin, and I love you so much!!”

Dorothy Anne! You have had such an impact on my life. When I met you almost 5 years ago I was pretty rough around the edges. I was quiet and insecure, but as you began to sand and buff away as the polisher in my life I began to see myself the way you saw me. Thank you for seeing me not for who I was but for who I would become. You truly have the eyes of Samuel! You don’t look at people and see shepherds you see the royal ones called out by God! I pray that whatever of season God calls, promotes, or prompts you into, that you would walk in favor. I pray blessing on you and your mother’s heart. Not just a mother to your natural children but I feel like you will call out and mother nations. I feel like 1 Cor 14:1 is a great verse for this next season. Pursue love, seek earnestly the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy! I believe you will speak into dry bones (sorry for the song of Ezekiel word lol) and not just be able to call out flesh. You will be able to call out destiny, doctors, politicians, and worshipers! I love you my sweet friend!”

Solid relationships are hard to come by. People that I can pick up the phone and have deep conversations with at the drop of a button are not always readily available. Most people don’t have the luxury of having genuine friendships that are lasting. I, on the other hand, have the privilege and joy to have that in you D! I’m so thankful for your life and the wonderful friend that you are to me! I’m so proud of the woman/wife/mother/friend that you have become! I pray God blesses you and your family so much and that your day is full of surprises and awesomeness! Here’s to your best year yet!! Happy birthday!!!!”
