About Us

We are the founders of Defining Moments, Inc. a ministry established in 2004 to encourage the church and reach the lost.

This is our personal blog. It is focused on “Mentoring Families in Ministry.” Our mission is to help you develop your gifts and reach your potential. As a result, we write on developing your gifts, leadership, life lessons, family, health, ministry and marketing. Sometimes we write things not necessarily pertaining to these categories but entertaining nonetheless!

Our goal is to help you and provide resources that could bring about change in your life. If you have a family and are in ministry –or aspire to be– then this blog is for you.

We typically post once a week. To make sure you don’t miss our newest post, you can subscribe via rss or email.

Dustin’s Biography

I am the former Director of Recruitment and Marketing of Christ For The Nations Institute, one of America’s leading bible schools. I have worked in the ministry for most of my career.

I graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute (CFNI) with a degree in Practical Theology and Missions. During my time as a student I was able to travel around the world ministering the gospel in 6 different countries. Afterwards I continued my education at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) where I received a degree in Psychology and Christian Ministry.

I am an Ordained Minister with the Fellowship of Ministers and Churches (FMC) as well as a Board Certified Faith Based Counselor from the International Institute of Faith Based Counseling (IIFBC). Ministering over 15 years, my heart’s cry is to help people to succeed at living out God’s purpose and destiny for their lives.

My career in ministry started out at Daystar Television Network, the second largest Christian television network in the world. I prayed, counseled and provided resources for over 15,000 people as well as responded to over 20,000 emails dealing with multiple subjects like addiction, healing, finances, marriage etc… Working for Daystar was an amazing experience, and I learned more about life and ministry than I ever thought possible.

In addition to working at Daystar, my wife and I founded and launched our own non-profit organization in 2004 named Defining Moments, Inc. Together we travelled and ministered across the U.S. using various platforms such as preaching, teaching and training in the areas of practical ministry and the performing arts.

In 2007 I was hired at CFNI as the Director of Recruitment and Marketing. During my time there I successfully built the bible school’s Facebook page to well over 12,000 fans in less than 2 years. I also filmed, edited and posted 40 YouTube videos for CFNI that have been collectively viewed close to 25,000 times.

While at CFNI my wife and I also volunteered our time to lead and direct a creative arts and music team we named The Remnant. Over the years we have mentored over 250 young Christian artists, ministered over 120 times in various churches, youth groups, schools and on the streets reaching over 30,000 people for Christ.

My greatest accomplishment in life was finding my best friend, Dorothy Anne (follow her on Twitter @dorothyanneDA). We have been married for over 10 years. Together we have 4 amazing children and counting, 3 boys and 1 girl. We live outside of Dallas, Texas.

In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, listening to podcasts, snuggling with my wife and playing sword fights with my kids.

Dorothy Anne’s Biography

I was born in Manila, Philippines. My family moved to America when I was only 3 years old, and so Texas has been my home for most of my life. Growing up I was surrounded by my wonderful Filipino grandparents, mom, sister, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ever since I was a little girl, my dream was to become a professional singer and songwriter. Thankfully I had a great and loving mother that supported my endeavors and encouraged me to pursue a career in Christian music. Thus most of my adult life has been involved in music ministry.

At the age of 16 I began singing on stage in church choirs and worship teams. Eventually I began leading worship and wanted to have a stronger biblical foundation, so I decided to go to bible school and enrolled at Christ For The Nations Institute (CFNI). In 2001, I graduated from CFNI with a degree in Practical Theology.

As a student at CFNI I was member of a dynamic traveling ministry team called Kaleidoscope. We traveled all over Texas and several states in America ministering in the area of worship, performing arts and evangelism. Under the leadership of Rayanna Fields, I was equipped and taught how to minister both on and off the stage.

After graduating I married my college sweetheart in 2003. As newly weds we were blessed to be able to work side by side together for a number of years at Daystar Television Network, the second largest Christian television network in the world. There I gained valuable insight and expertise in learning how to deal with people from all walks of life.

While working full time in 2004, my husband and I established a 501(c)3 not for profit organization named Defining Moments, specialized in providing training in the performing arts and practical ministry.

In 2006 I gave birth to our first baby boy. At that time I also began working from home not only as a domestic engineer, but also a virtual assistant for my mother-in-law’s real estate business.

A year later my husband and I were asked to lead and develop a drama ministry at CFNI. For over 5 years, I co-directed that team which we named The Remnant, and it evolved into a worship and performing arts touring team.

I have been married to my handsome husband and best friend for over 10 years. Together we have 4 amazing children, Aidan, Aliyah, Daniel and Liam. As a family we have traveled and ministered across the United States in approximately 22 states.

My motto in life is found in Colossians 3:23… In everything you do, do wholeheartedly unto The Lord.”

In my free time I enjoy decorating, cleaning, organizing, singing, writing, dancing and watching movies with my husband and kids.
